New Programs Announcement
GREETINGS!
Washington University of Virginia (WUV) is pleased to announce three new Master’s level degree programs. WUV welcomes all potential students who have the desire to succeed in the business and technical society. To assist students to succeed, WUV provides quality lectures backed by hands-on computer practices for the applicable courses. In addition to professional education, WUV helps students to develop humanity and soft skills, based on Christian teaching to ensure the true success in life.
Owing to success in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, WUV expands its scope to three new Master level programs: Master of Computer Science (MCS) and Master of Information System (MIS) from Fall 2021 semester. More detailed information is provided in the sections below. To open these new Master’s programs, WUV has secured approvals from the accreditation organizations, including Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) and State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
The existing WUV degree programs are as follows.
WUV provides flexibly combined curriculums for business study and computer technologies. It has several major studies, such as Business Administration, Management Information System, Computer Science, and Accounting. WUV lets students to take any courses within these four major study courses as electives in addition to their own major study. This feature allows students to freely choose various study subjects or in-depth study in a concentration that is different from the major study. WUV believes the free electives provision will equip students with a broad spectrum understanding of business and technology worlds, reflecting the current trend of merging various knowledges and skills together. GUIDANCE FOR ENROLLING IN NEW PROGRAMS
Draft curriculums for the MIS and MCS programs are provided above sections. Since the new programs require several prerequisite courses that are shown in the draft curriculums, we need to give the current WUV students a guidance if they are interested in those new programs. For the F-visa status students, taking the prerequisite courses would not qualify for full-time student status. So, the students who are interested in a new program need to take at least two or three prerequisite courses in their current degree program before enrolling in a new program. To help taking the prerequisite courses, the following courses will be offered during this Winter Break. Please check these courses and enroll in them during current registration period (November 1st – 30th). More prerequisite courses will open during Summer Break in 2021 also. 1) BCS 102 Fundamentals of Programming (MIT303), 12/14/2020 – 12/23/2020
2) BCS 103 Database Concepts and Applications (MIT301), 1/4/2021 – 1/13/2021
3) ECO 201 Microeconomics, 1/4/2021 – 1/13/2021
FINANCIAL MATTERS
WUV provides quality education at an affordable tuition. The current on-campus MBA program costs around $3000 for taking three (3) courses, that is nine (9) credit hours courses. If the tuition cannot be paid in a lump sum for class registration, WUV offers an installment plan to pay the tuition in several times. Currently, education loan is not provided by WUV but can provide the loan program if sufficient residents enroll in the WUV programs. FOREIGN STUDENTS
