There are two ways to upload files in Moodle. You can open an activity chooser, click file picker, and add each file one by one. You can also drag and drop files from your home screen. If you want to either quickly add a file to your Moodle course or upload multiple files at once, consider using a drag and drop method.
First, click on the gear icon. Click ‘Turn editing on’.
When you click ‘Turn editing on’ you will see this message showing up in your page. It is saying that you can now drag and drop files.
In your home screen, drag the file that you want to upload. You can upload files such as word document or PowerPoint files this way.
If you press and hold the movable icon next to the file that you just uploaded, you can drag and drop the file to the other week or topic sections.
You can also click on the movable icon and select where you want to move the file by clicking on the list of options underneath the ‘Move note file’.
If you were to drag and drop multiple files at once, click on the first file, and then press and hold the Ctrl key. While holding down the Ctrl key, click on each of the other files that you want to select.
Drag and drop the selected files to either the week or topic section in your Moodle course.
If you were to upload the files in a folder, you need to zip them before you can attempt to drag and drop it. Click on the zipped folder, drag, and drop the folder to either the week or topic section in your Moodle course.
When you drag and drop a folder, you will see this message showing up on your screen. Click ‘Unzip files and create folder’ and click ‘Upload.’ This action will unzip the folder and upload the file to your Moodle course.
